Beginning Beekeeping Introduction

This is club members Melanie Blankenship and Michael Lindsey's 3rd year offering the beekeeping series at Natures Touch Nursery in Templeton.
The Introduction class is Tuesday December 17th from 6 to 7:30pm @ 225 South Main St; Templeton.
This class will continue with 6 monthly session in 2020, January to June. Classes will show the equipment needed for keeping a beehive. The discussion will cover many topics including setting up a beehive, introducing the bees, spring build up, varroa mites and harvesting honey in May and June.
The full class series starts January 21th and continues through June 16th. Classes are the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 6 to 7:30 pm. In the series, each class will cover beekeeping step by step with hands on demonstrations and discussions on pertinent topics. The goal of the series is to teach the student how to start with new equipment and bees in February and March and build up the nest to harvest honey in May and June. The series will conclude with a honey extraction and bottling demonstration. Students in the series will have an opportunity to use the extracting and bottling equipment at Natures Touch to harvest their honey.
