Soil, Compost, and Water Management Worksho
Learn about soil health, amendments, composting, and techniques for storing water effectively in soil. This class will provide practical tips and knowledge for improving soil quality and water retention, tailored to the conditions in San Luis Obispo County.
Bring a sample of your own soil for analysis! Here's how to prepare your sample:
- Use a round-nose shovel to take a scoop of soil from the middle of the area you want to grow in.
- Mix the soil thoroughly to ensure it's representative of the area.
- Place approximately one gallon of the mixed soil in a ziplock bag.
- Label the bag with the date and the location where the sample was collected.
Note: If you have multiple areas you'd like to evaluate, you’re welcome to bring multiple samples.
